Description
Our Advanced Ice Climbing Course is designed for climbers ready to expand their ice climbing skills to longer, multi-pitch routes. Building on foundational techniques, this course teaches the specialized skills required to safely and efficiently climb multiple pitches on ice.
Participants will learn advanced rope management, pitch planning, and anchor building specific to icy terrain. Instruction includes lead climbing and belaying on ice, transitioning between belay stations, setting up hanging belays and managing gear for multipitch efficiency. Emphasis is placed on risk assessment, communication, and problem-solving in a multi-pitch context.
Guided by experienced instructors, you will practice climbing on real multipitch ice routes, allowing you to apply skills in authentic conditions while receiving personalized coaching. The course also covers emergency procedures and retreat strategies unique to longer climbs.
By course end, you will have the confidence and technical knowledge to tackle multipitch ice climbs with greater independence and safety. At the end of the day, comprehensive debrief will highlight areas for continued improvement .
